Now Live: The Final Hours of Tomb Raider App.
Crystal Dynamics has just announced that they have officially released their Final Hours of Tomb Raider application for iOS, Kindle Fire, and Steam. This app shows gamers what life was like at the Crystal Dynamics studio during the final year of Tomb Raider’s production. This gives viewers an added perspective on what it was like to put Tomb Raider together, all of the effort that was needed, and shows the key creative forces that were responsible for allowing them to re-create this well-known franchise.
“The Final Hours of Tomb Raider is a story about the reinvention of both a brand and a studio,” said Geoff Keighley. “This franchise reboot was itself rebooted multiple times, and now, for the first time, the team at Crystal Dynamics shares with fans the early prototypes and concepts that didn’t make it into the finished game.”
“Geoff has managed to capture the essence of a story that no one outside of the studio has ever been exposed to,” said Karl Stewart, Global Brand Director of Crystal Dynamics. “In a very immersive and informative way, he has managed to bring to life the personal side of game development, something which is usually lost in the noise when bringing a game to fruition.”
To witness all of the highs and lows that Crystal Dynamics faced while creating Tomb Raider, download the Final Hours of Tomb Raider app for your ipad, PC, or Kindle for $2.99 (£1.99/€2.99).
