Fire Emblem Awakening Permadeath (I just couldn’t do it)

For the past few days I’ve been playing (and enjoying the f**k out of) Fire Emblem Awakening. When I started the game I was given a choice, to play Casual or Classic mode. In Classic mode when a character dies he/she dies forever and can never be revived. In Casual mode when a character dies he/she is automatically revived after the battle and can be used again.

I’ve been reading online that most gamers, especially Fire Emblem fans have been playing Classic mode since this is what the series has always been about. So, I got started chose Classic and did a few battles until one of my chars died. I just couldn’t take it. I had to re-create a new game and start over on Casual, why? I always play RPG games for the story and the fact that a character I got used to would die and I would no longer be able to use said character was too much for me to handle. I couldn’t possibly enjoy a game where people die forever.

So, tell me, am I doing it wrong?

i’ve always played Fire Emblem and reloading matches until I got it without anyone dying on my team. It ain’t that hard, to be honest.

I haven’t gotten the new Fire Emblem yet, but I’ll be playing it on casual when I do. I don’t think I could deal with permadeath. I’m fragile like that that,
