‘The Vanishing of Ethan Carter’ Announced

A newly formed indie studio called The Astronauts has announced that they are developing their first game titled The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.  The game follows a detective who is tasked to find a young boy, Ethan Carter, who has gone missing.  This game is set to be an immersive, unique survival horror experience that is unlike many of the big blockbuster survival horror games these days.  Rather than the focus being on killing monsters that jump around at every corner, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will focus primarily on the story and getting players to become as involved with the game as possible.

“What we care about the most is that the players feel like they’re really there. Immersion is our number one priority,” designer Adrian Chmielarz explained. “It’s a game about exploration and discovery. We’re not abandoning the gameplay – on the contrary, we’re trying to strip it down to the bone and make sure it’s always meaningful and truly makes the experience better.”
