Annoying Things That WoW Players Do in Battlegrounds
The infamous World of Warcraft is a game that hardcore players take very seriously. If you make a mistake, you are likely to be called out on it. When you enter into a WoW battleground, everything is a team effort, but when you don’t know what you’re doing you can bring the whole team down. It is popular belief that Alliance is the “noob” faction. And since I play on Alliance, I have seen a lot of “noob”ish activity. I am by no means a WoW expert, but I have enough experience to be able to list a few things that players do in battlegrounds that make me rage.
1. When Players PVP in a Random Area Instead of Going for the Flag/Defending.
This is a common problem in the battleground ‘Warsong Gulch’. There are flags for each faction on the opposite end of the map. Whoever is the first to capture the opposing faction’s flag three times, wins. Since the flags are on opposite ends of the map, there is a lot of space in the middle of the map for random PVP’ing. Players are often fighting each other in this middle section rather than going for the flag, defending the flag carrier, or killing the opposing faction’s flag carrier. This is quite annoying because nothing gets done. It is simply an attempt to do as much damage as possible. Don’t do this.
2. When Players Don’t Do Their Class-Specific Job
For example, if you are a frost mage (as I am), your job in battlegrounds is primarily crowd control. It is beneficial to freeze enemy opponents, use AOE/CC spells, and cast Polymorph. If you are constantly just casting frostbolt, you aren’t going to be very beneficial for the team. If you are a protection warrior or any other type of tank, you should be going for the flag in Warsong Gulch as often as possible because you are the hardest to kill. Basically, learn how to properly play your class. Your team will thank you for it.
3. Getting Sapped by Rogues for the Majority of the Game
This isn’t really battleground-specific, and I know they are just doing their jobs, but that doesn’t alter the frustration that I feel every time that I am snuck up on and stunned by a rogue. I just had to say it. I hate rogues.
4. When Players Don’t Attack the Healer
It is difficult to kill a target that is being healed. In order to make that target easier to kill, you should kill the person who is healing, rather wasting time trying to take down a tank with triple your HP who is getting Lifebloom stacks thrown on him/her.
